Data for the press

What's available

For every recorded storm or severe-weather event we maintain a CSV file with the measured wind gusts from all affected DWD stations. It's updated hourly while the event is ongoing, and frozen once the event is considered concluded. You'll find it in the Severe Weather Archive; every event page links its own CSV directly in the "Data for the press" section.

Columns

• station_id: the DWD station number.
• station_name: name of the measuring station.
• bundesland: the station's federal state.
• lat: the station's latitude.
• lon: the station's longitude.
• max_gust_kmh: strongest measured gust during the event period, in km/h.
• max_gust_bft: the same gust converted to Beaufort.
• zeitpunkt_utc: time of the strongest gust, UTC, RFC 3339 format.
• status: vorlaeufig while the event is still ongoing, otherwise final.
